Originally dedicated to the newspaper industry, I changed my profession a few years ago to the marketing of real estate. I not only help them find their home, but make new friends along the way. My most challenging and rewarding endeavor in life has been my three sons, Scott, James and Brad Poush. Family has always been important to me, so it wasn't a difficult decision to leave the fast paced lifestyle of Peoria, Illinois and move to Mountain Home at the urging of my sister, who had moved here quite a few years prior.

It didn't take me long to fall in love with the charm and down home flavor of the Twin Lakes Area, and the picture perfect post card views around every corner are awe inspiring. In addition, the wonderful people who live here are never too busy to speak or even chat for a moment if you like.

I returned to school later in life, but I believe it's never too late for an education or anything else you set your heart on. I leaned toward Journalism, and worked at it enthusiastically for a while before turning toward the social services field.

I am originally from Chicago Illinois, but I moved to the Mtn. Home area in 1968, where I attended school and graduated from Mtn. Home High School in 1980.

I joined the Army and served my country from 1981 to 1985, and my first duty station was for 1 ½ years at Fort Carson, Colorado on the M60 tank. Then, I spent two years on the M1 tank guarding the East/West German border. After, serving my time in the military, I decided to drive a semi truck and did so for several years, but it was when I got into Real Estate that I found my true calling.

I received my Real Estate license in 1994, and now serve as Executive Broker at Ed Gilbert & Associates Realty Company. I love the Mtn. Brad Poush - Owner & Sales Associate
I relocated to Mtn. Home, AR with my mother and two brothers when I was about the age of 12 and continued my education here. Although I wasn’t born here, I seemed to fit in perfectly with the area residents, and I feel as if I am a native to the area.

I have a 2 beautiful daughters, Jessica and Amy. Both are now married and have blessed me with a grandson, Kohnner, and granddaughters Kay Lynn, and Haley Jane.

My wife Ashley and I enjoy the great outdoors. We love camping, riding our Harley and as much travel time as we can manage. We never tire of seeing the great Ozark area.

When I completed high school, I went into manufacturing which helped me raise my two daughters for the last 22 years, so you can see I’m not the kind of person to hop from job to job.

After raising my daughters, I thought it was time to choose a new profession, and since my mother has been in Real Estate for over 20 years in Mtn. Home, it wasn’t a difficult decision to choose Real Estate. And to motivate me more, my aunt, who also went into Real Estate and my mom recently purchased Ed Gilbert & Associates Realty Co., so it wasn’t difficult to know where to hang my license.

I’ve lived in Iowa most of my life. I have a beautiful wife, Teresa, and four wonderful children; Tyler, Britney, Blake, and Dylan. I’ve truly been blessed, and with four children to consider, my philosophy has been that you don’t sit around and wait for things to happen, you get out there and make things happen. I was always the kind to get out there and work, and have been in sales, both salaried and commission for over 25 years, with ten years as a sales manager.

However, there came a time in my life when I wanted to make a change, and my mom, B.J. Chiodo has been in Real Estate for over 20 years, and spoke to me on several occasions to do the same, and when she and my Aunt Sharon purchased Ed Gilbert & Associates Realty Co. in November of 2005, I began thinking about it seriously and decided to get my license, as did my brother, Brad Poush, so joining the team was somewhat a family affair.

It took a lot to pack up and move away from familiar things, but my family and everyone here at Ed Gilbert & Associates Realty Co., has been wonderful. I had visited the area for years, as my mom lived here, but never thought I would actually live here one day myself. I feel very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. As a family man, I am very happy that my family is adapting very well to the lifestyle and friendly folks here in the Ozarks, and I already feel as though I belong, not only to the company, but to the area.

I recently moved here from southern California. I’ve been coming here to vacation for the last 11 years, seeing my parents that moved here in 1993. Having worked in the automotive service industry, I had enough of all the exhaust fumes from work and the city. What a breath of fresh air it is here. I was committed to excellent customer service in the service industry and am going to use those skills in serving the people in their Real Estate transactions. I take pride in following up and staying in contact.

I also dedicate my time to coaching in Little League, having 4 boys keeps my wife and myself very busy during that time of year. My wife is Aliza, sons Jared, Ryan and twins Kyle and Austin.

John Sims - Sales Associate
I was born and raised in Gainesville, Missouri and joined the U. S. Army in 1948 for one year. On December 24, 1949 I married Guavana Eglick (we had dated 3 ½ years). We have four children, Rick Sims, Katherine Coffman, Terry Sims, and Jeaina Hood. We have 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

We owned and operated a locker plant, slaughter house, grocery store and meat market for 12 years, sold it, then bought into MFA insurance for seven years.

In 1970 we moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas and sold life insurance for two years and in 1972 I received my Real Estate license.

I sure have seen lots of changes in Mountain Home in the past 35 years in Real Estate and been involved in building about 18 homes and moved 11 times.

We love this country and love the changes and don’t think we have seen anything yet. Just come down and I will help you find just the house or land that you can call home. We have it all - fishing, camping, hunting, golfing, etc. I look forward to serving all your Real Estate needs.

I have been blessed to live in the beautiful Twin Lakes area for over 30 years. My husband, Craig, and I are the parents of two sons, Jerimiah and Casy and the grandparents of a fantastic grandson, Chase. I previously owned and operated a family style restaurant in downtown Mountain Home, but made the decision to change my career to Real Estate. I love dealing with people and being part of their big decision to purchase property in our area. The challenge is rewarding in hundreds of ways.

My husband and I have a 2-year-old son named Calvin, and a baby boy on the way.

I have many diverse interests that include missionary work in Brazil, rodeos, riding horses, fishing, swimming, and jet skiing.
